The China Series: The season began with a unique trip to Beijing for an exhibition series, though the Sun Devils struggled early upon returning to the States.
The Rankings: ASU spent the vast majority of the season ranked in the top 20, climbing as high as No. 9 in the USCHO poll.
Offensive Leaders: Junior forward Johnny Walker led the charge again with 20 goals and 38 points. Senior James Sanchez was a massive addition, leading the team in assists (25) and total points (40).
Between the Pipes: Sophomore goaltender Evan DeBrouwer took over the starting role and was a workhorse, posting 19 wins and two shutouts with a .919 save percentage.
The Abrupt Ending: By early March 2020, ASU was ranked No. 13 in the PairWise rankings, which all but guaranteed them a second consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament. They were preparing for their final series when the sports world shut down.
