Highlights

9th NCHC

NCHC Playoffs: Missed

Pairwise: #41

  • Ice Breaker Success: ASU swept the Ice Breaker Tournament early in the season, picking up solid wins over Notre Dame (5–3) and Alaska Fairbanks (5–2).

  • Desert Hockey Classic Champions (3-Peat): ASU continued its dominance in its own tournament, defeating Alaska Anchorage (7–2) and Air Force (5–2) to lift the trophy for the third consecutive year.

  • NCHC Road Grit: One of the brightest spots was a hard-earned road victory at North Dakota (4–2) in November, showing the team could handle the league's most hostile environments.
  • Cullen Potter: The young sensation lived up to the hype, putting up 26 points in just 24 games before his season was shortened, showing elite "point-per-game" potential.

  • The "Iron" Defense: While the offense grabbed headlines, sophomore Brasen Boser had a legendary defensive performance against Omaha, recording a season-high 6 blocked shots to preserve a one-goal lead in the second period.

  • Personal Shortage: Justin Cloutier (illness) and Austin Zemlak returned to their CHL teams midseason, and transfer Johnny Waldron left for the ECHL. This left the Sun Devils short-handed with new roster limits.

  • We Are Going Streaking: Rookie Sam Alfano tied Josh Doan's rookie point streak of six games (3g, 5a).
