The Record: ASU finished the season with a 21-13-1 overall record. This was a massive jump from the previous season (8-21-5), representing one of the greatest year-over-year turnarounds in college hockey history.
The Penn State Upset: On November 3, ASU went into State College and knocked off No. 6 Penn State 4-3 in overtime. This win was the catalyst for the program’s first-ever national ranking (No. 18) just nine days later.
Postseason Milestone: As an independent team, ASU earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. They were placed in the Midwest Regional in Allentown, Pennsylvania against Quinnipiac.
Joey Daccord: In a truly elite season, Daccord led the nation with 7 shutouts. He posted a .926 save percentage and was a finalist for the Mike Richter Award and a Hobey Baker nominee.
Johnny Walker: A scoring machine, Walker finished the season as one of the top goal-scorers in the country, netting 23 goals and totaling 34 points.
